I am back and still blown away.

I saw and experienced so many beautiful things on my journey that I am still lost for words. I had a quick look at the pictures and also started to edit some of them, but it may take a while until they are ready to be uploaded (hadn`t I mentioned to upload some other pictures *cough*).

A little sneak preview

In a few days I will start to a new experience. I will be participating in the Allgaeu-Orient Rally.

The idea is to drive from Oberstaufen (Bavaria, Germany) to Baku (Azerbaijan) with 20 year old cars and fullfill certain tasks on the way. Highways and navigation systems are taboo. At the end of the Rally the cars will be donated for a good cause.

Our team might have a GPS tracking device in our car. It is still not clarified yet, since the company providing us with the dive is still waiting for the shipment. So far only 9 teams could be equipped with it. There is still a glimmer of hope, that our team will also be provided with a tracker. We will find out on Friday or Saturday. Just check out the website and look for Team 22. If our little dot moves, we were lucky.

Our planned route will lead us through Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Georgia to Azerbaijan. Apperently, you can see, that google maps shows only the route to Kars. That is because from there on, google maps wants us to send us through Iran to Baku, no matter how many cities we include in our planned route through Georgia.

And last, but not least our website Ab nach Amman

You might wonder, why it is called after the capital of Jordan. The rally usually ends in Amman (Jordan). Due to the conflict in Syria in 2011, the rally ended abruptly in Turkey. As the conflict continues, the organizers decided to change the destination to Baku. Never the less, the award ceremony will still be held in Amman. We will reach our final destination the save way, via plane.

I do not know, if I will be able to give you updates during my journey. I will definitively try my best.
